Meredith…
is an accomplished woman. As a chief purser with United Airlines she is comfortable exercising authority in the air. On the ground, she’s lost control. Sexually groomed, she is no stranger to bedroom diplomacy. That talent, however, falls short of the skills required to reclaim her life when her husband is arrested, stripping the family assets in the process. Rudderless yet determined, Meredith must summon the courage to go forward; ensuring the years ahead are equal to the best of those that have gone before.

Palmer…
has dashing good looks: not hunky, more like a male fashion model with the swagger of George Clooney’s casual-yet-sophisticated gait. His square shoulders and trim waist provide the perfect frame on which to drape his unmistakably-preppy clothes. A monogrammed, pale-blue Oxford shirt–the color of his eyes–a navy blazer, and Ferragamo loafers completes his signature outfit. Despite a preoccupation with his image, Palmer has the capacity to fall deeply in love with Meredith, a woman he relentlessly pursues.

Sloane…
There was much to admire about Sloane. Broad of shoulders with a straight back and thighs built for strength and speed, he was sexy–in a British way. A gentleman with English public school polish, he was the result of a gilded youth. The cant of his jaw gave him an air of effortless superiority. Best of all, he was divorced and had moved on with his life–in the hope of snaring a woman who could refresh his depleted bank account and enhance his social status.

Lisa…
has the ability to see clearly into Meredith’s future. She remembers all the embarrassing moments of her best friend’s past and can accurately assess the men who have walked in and out of Meredith’s life. She can smell distress from 4,000 miles away, recommend flu medicine over the phone, diagnose tummy trouble from a single symptom, summon up a dinner menu in seconds, accessorize party clothes from memory, and dry tears with laughter. Still, Lisa has cause to worry if a day goes by without an email or a phone call… Meredith keeps her on tenterhooks.

Reid…
has an impressive curriculum vitae featuring a Yale law degree and numerous corporate directorships. He’s a runner, reader, wine connoisseur, and compulsive gambler with a low-flash-point temper. In baseball parlance, Reid is at the plate with two strikes against him: rage and betting. One more and he’s headed for the locker room–permanently out of the dating game he’s so eager to win.

Spencer…
is a divorced Englishman with an international lifestyle and a pragmatic approach to women. Unattached for five years, he owns a charming casa in Seville, Spain. Spencer is definitely not new to the singles scene despite being romantically challenged. Seldom demonstrative in public, he’s never shy about making his desires known in the bedroom. Burned by two wives and several girlfriends, he has no intention of making another serious commitment–until Meredith enters his life.

Taylor…
posts a thoughtfully-prepared profile on eHarmony. Lovingly reflecting on his lengthy marriage and his renewed desire to embrace the future, he is eye-catching material. His discerning words, carefully chosen to describe himself in the dating questionnaire are: considerate, cultured, classical, and well-educated. Purporting to be financially stable and single, Taylor is seemingly perfect–until he is forced to disclose an unforgivable lie.
